New video for 'I Know, I Hear' from the fantastic New York disco-duo of Alex Frankel and Nick Millhiser who make up Holy Ghost!. Their new EP 'Static on The Wire' is out on DFA and is definitely worth picking up. Touring the US with Chromeo and working on their debut album for a 2011 release. Can.not.wait.

Video features Caroline Polachek of Chairlift and is directed by Ben Fries.

Clive Tanaka y su orquestra

I Want You (So Bad) is 6 minute multi-instrumental track, pulled in all directions, guitar, beats, Daft Punk inspired vocoda vocals, ups, downs and breaks and better still its got all the melody to satisfy. Neu Chicago pulls it in a more tropical direction - steel drums, vinyl-cracked drum samples that give way to beautiful male and female vocals that slip in and out of the vocoda effect once again.

The Jet Set Siempre Nº 1 cassette is the first release from Clive Tanaka y su orquestra, short of these downloads this is the only way to put your hands on his music but we're assured more is coming and in varying formats. It's infectious.

Beat Connection - Surf Noir
Sunday, 25 July 2010 20:43

Beat Connection are Jordan Koplowitz and Reed Juenger from Seattle, WA and make beat led elctronica. Their current EP hints at their influence for all things summer and this is defintiely a great record to have on hand. The addition of vocals to their sound on tracks In The Water and Silver Screen really give an insight into the versitility of where their direction might head. Better still, it;s free here.

Two beautifully crafted videos in one week? We are lucky. Yesterday we posted the video for Skream's Listenin' To The Records on My Wall directed by David Wilson, tackling the concept of being the first man and woman in existence. Today we have the trippy effects of Flying Lotus' MmmHmm directed by Special Problems. There's a lovely unexpected moment of 8 bit graphics in the middle, seems our head-dressed emperor sets about killing fluffy white bunnies.

Women - Eyesore

Check out 'Eyesore' taken from Women's forthcoming long player 'Public Strain' coming on Jagjaguwar later this summer. Just past halfway the track shifts and seems to change mode. We like it.
