Ava Luna are making some soulful instrumentation with the backing vocals of the Supremes and a croon not unlike that of Jamie Lidell. The track Past The Barbary has it all, 3 part backing harmonies, string sections you wouldn't find out of place on a K.I.D. disco cut and then you get a track like Six Seven which has a dirt-driven guitar like Captain Beefheart.
