There's been an influx of American bands playing lo-fi surf-garage guitar-pop, we mean this in no bad way of course. We've been feasting on the likes of Best Coast, Dum Dum Girls, and The Smith Westerns for some time but its always nice to balance it out by looking to the opposite side of the Atlantic for gems such as Girls Names and their track Graveyard, taken from their upcoming Tough Love Records debut 'You Should Know By Now' coming May 24th. Playing shows with Wavves, Sic Alps, Times New Viking, releasing on Brooklyn's Captured Tracks and a sound that wouldn't be out of place on a K Records or a Slumberland cassette. All being said, Graveyard evokes Modest Mouse 'Moon and Antarctica' era guitars, which for us just makes it even better.
