You can listen to some bands and within the first song or two pretty much nail where they reside.  Burial captures perfectly the soundtrack to a rainy night in South London, and could LCD Soundsystem be from anywhere else but NYC?  There are 100's of other examples...

However, at first listen, Tame Impala could be a little harder to trace.  The Doors, The Beach Boys, The Beatles and a host of Krautrock influences all play a part to make up their pschedelic, isolated & dreamy sound.  But if you've ever spent any length of time in Perth, Western Australia, you'll be able to slide up to these boys as easy as the sun slides off Perth's Sunset Coast into the Indian Ocean.

Signed to Modular Records since 2008, Tame Impala's debut long-player Innerspeak is out on 21st May (pre-order here).  In the meantime, the band have each individually created a mix to promo the album which makes for some very interesting listening....

There is apparently a 4th mix on the way, but with only 3 members of the band, we are wondering who that will be from.
